Review: Wonder by RJ Palacio

My rating: ★★★★
Genre: young adult, contemporary, family, school, middle grade.
Series: stand-alone.

Blurb from Goodreads:

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.
August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He's about to start 5th grade at Beecher Prep, and if you've ever been the new kid then you know how hard that can be. The thing is Auggie's just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, despite appearances?

My review:
"The universe was not kind to Auggie Pullman."

And still he was so brave! I really liked this book. While I was reading this I just couldn’t imagine a good ending. But oh boy, I was wrong. It was so beautiful and I ended up crying the last few chapters! And I really didn’t expected the last sentence: It was perfect ♥

I really recommend this book! It’s a perfect read in between a series or whatever. Plus the chapters are short, which is so good (I could say ‘one more chapter’ without ending up reading an hour to finish it like in other books :D). All the characters are so well described and real. I really loved the change in POV’s.

& This book will seriously make you think more about judging, appearances, friendship and family.

"Greatness lies not in being strong, but in the right of using strength. He is the greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts by the attraction of his own."
